People were complaining about having to type in their passwords so many times (twice, think?), so there is now an option in Preferences to leave the kernel extension loaded when quitting, and the loading/unloading of the kernele extension was the only action that required one's password ... so, this should make a lot of people happy. You only have to type in your password the first time you load GlowWorm after the computer starts up.
