Added an auto-check-for-update feature. Shortly after start up, and even six hours thereafter,
GlowWorm tries to retrieve the latest.xml file from the web site. It compares version
numbers and alerts the user if something newer is available. This is enabled by default and
can be disabled quite easily from within the preferences pane in GlowWorm.app.
Added a GUI for managing plugins. It will show which plugins it knows about, their names, versions
and whether they are loaded or not. You can click to load a plugin. There's also a Scan button
which will look in /Library/Application Support/GlowWorm/Plugins/ and
~/Library/Application Support/GlowWorm/Plugins/ for additional plugins. There's also an
autoload checkbox for each plugin which will cause that plugin to run, automatically, when
GlowWorm is started.
There was this one little, tiny error in the process handling code in the kernel extension that
caused the whole thing to screw up when it came to figuring out which executable was associated
with a given process. That's all fixed now.
[Changelog]
- Added support for the auto-check-for-updates feature, which will notify you if a new version is available. Also added a preference option to disable it as well as the ability to customize it to show only stable vs beta releases.
- Added GUI support for viewing running plugins, finding new plugins, loading plugins and marking plugins for auto-load, etc.
- Fixed an issue in Rule Editor where the "Last" date was showing Dec 31 1969 when rule had never been matched.
- Fixed an issue where a pid which existed prior to the loading of the kernel extension was frequently being associated with the incorrect executable path, thereby wreaking all sorts of havok.
